Kalsubai is the Highest peak of Maharashtra (1646 meters) , located at Akola Taluka,of Ahmednagar District in northen sahyadri part (Western Ghat) .
To reach BARI , one has to travel to Igatpuri on the Mumbai Nashik rout . From Igatpuri take the early morning S.T.(Bus) at around 5 a.m. from Igatpuri ST stand going towards pune and allight at BARI.
Its usually takes 3 to 4 hours to reach the top of Kalsubai exactly 795 meters from Bari village located nearest east side base.
Soon after Leaving BARI , a small stream is crossed followed after by a Hanuman Temple. The route from behind this temple takes the hiker straight to the summit. There are three iron ladders along this route. There is a well near the last iron ladder as one approaches the top of Kalsubai, but the water is not potable during summer . The rest of route is without water, so its best to fill water bottles in bari ( minimum 2-3 ltr).
It is an easy hike, but parts of it are quite steep in places.
ENJOY TREKKING .....!
